1940's
Gordon Gilbert '40 published a small book of religious and inspirational verses. He retired from full-time ministry twenty-five years ago, but still does pulpit supply work. Gordon and his family were American Baptist missionaries in China that were evacuated by the U.S. Navy in 1949. Gordon resides in Canadaigua, N.Y.
Carl Kenagy '42 (also known by his professional radio name Tom Carnegie) announced sixty-one Indy 500 races and was inducted into the International Racing Hall of Fame. Carl and his wife, DJ, reside in Indianapolis, Ind.
Camille Bedard '43 was honored by the American Baptist Churches on the 60th year of his ordination. Camille and Juanita Carpenter Bedard '43 celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in June.
W. Dean Rainwater '44 observed his 74th anniversary of preaching his first sermon with a celebration at the Owasso Baptist Village Chapel in Owasso, Okla. Dean preached his first sermon as a teenager in Colorado, and has pastored churches in both Missouri and Colorado.
The Liberty (Mo.) School District Foundation initiated a new award called "Honoring Our Own." The purpose of the award is to recognize graduates whose deeds and character exemplify outstanding achievement in their life’s work and/or service to their communities. Jack L. Capps '47 was named one of three Liberty graduates and Juarenne Moore Hester '55 was named "Outstanding Retired Teacher."
Jim Leatherman '49 and Rena Hank Leatherman '51 celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary by acting as the Grand Marshals of the Fairborn, Ohio, 4th of July parade.
1950's
George Chrisman '56 retired after 31 years of teaching and has now opened up the Red Star Studios in the art district of Kansas City. George produces functional stoneware and porcelain work. He and Rachel Lowman Chrisman '56 reside in Lee’s Summit, Mo.
Phil Miller '56 was featured in an article in the Kansas City Star entitled "Paralysis doesn’t keep Overland Park golfer from game he loves." At the age of forty-four, Phil was paralyzed from a spinal tap. A year later his brother, Frank, designed a golf cart which allowed him to drive right up next to the ball, swivel the seat and then tilt the seat until he’s in a standing position. Claycrest Golf Club was the first course that allowed Phil to use his cart on the course. Phil plays golf at least three times a week.
Charles Rowe '57 served eight years as a Vice Regent for Sigma Nu, being the chapter advisor at the University of Michigan, Eastern Michigan University and the University of Texas. Charles resides in Las Cruces, N. Mex.
Sam Breckenridge '58 retired after a lifetime of teaching and coaching in the Kansas City area. He officiated high school wrestling for 25 years and was selected to work the state tournaments for 18 years. Sam was inducted into the Missouri High School Wrestling Coaches Association’s Hall of Fame and was honored by the National Wrestling Hall of Fame for lifetime contribution to wrestling. Sam and Marguerite Smith Breckenridge '62 reside in Lee’s Summit, Mo.
Norma Langer Kendrick '58 competes in competitive ballroom dancing and several years ago was named the American Latin Ballroom Dance Champion. She performs with the group Olé, which has performed in Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey and China. Norma resides in Mission, Kan.
Jim Coleberd '59 fulfilled a life-time dream by earning an associate degree in fire science from John Wood Community College in Quincy, Ill. Fighting fires has been a part of Jim’s life for many years, both professionally and as a volunteer. Jim retired after 35 years from his medical practice in Clinton, Mo. and is currently President/CEO of Mark Twain Caves in Hannibal, Mo.

James Conger '61 is serving as the interim minister and youth specialist at the Ladoga Academy/Home for Girls in Ladoga, Ind. He and Diane Gibson Conger '62 reside in Crawfordsville, Ind.
Dick Pyle '61 is the Psychologist-Special Services Officer for the United State Peace Corps in Washington, DC. He has enjoyed the opportunity to support the Peace Corps volunteers in the mental health challenges of their work. Since 2002, he has visited volunteers and staff in 30 developing nations and observed first-hand their work and the challenges they face each day.
Richard Cox '62 retired from Sprint Corporation. He was elected to the Board of Trustees of Midwestern Baptist Seminary. He and Marsha Firestone Cox '64 recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary and reside in Lee’s Summit, Mo.
Gary Schneider '63 retired after 43 years from Midwest Federal Savings. The last 24 years he served as President/CEO. Gary resides in St. Joseph, Mo.
Mary Sprankle McMannes '66 retired from teaching in the Los Angeles School District. In May she went to England to hike 114 miles of the Cotswold Way from Chipping Campden to the Bath Abbey. Mary also leads hikes for the Angeles Chapter of the Sierra Club, local mountains and sierra peaks. She resides in Reseda, Calif.
Paul Black '67 was elected 2007 Potentate of Ararat Shriners of Kansas City, Mo. Paul resides in Liberty, Mo.
John Palmer '67 stepped down as President/CEO for Helen Keller International and returned to the field as Country Director for Indonesia programs for Helen Keller International. John states his new position has been challenging yet wonderful.
S. Carlene Basore Petersen '67 was inducted into the Colorado Tennis Hall of Fame. Carlene resides in Littleton, Col.
Ed Waller '68 retired as a Commander from the U.S. Navy (Public Affairs Officer), and is now a math teacher (earning his teaching certificate while at Jewell) for Exceptional Student Education at a high school in Pensacola, Fla. He is also assisting with their cross country team. Ed and Leila spend their summers in Belgium and France.
Carol Calvin Poole '69 was named the Associate Deputy Director of the Programs Office at the Bureau of Justice Assistance with the Department of Justice in Washington, DC.
Robert Taylor '69, after retiring as Superintendent of Schools at Festus, Mo., is the school improvement supervisor for St. Louis City and Metro St. Louis, Mo. Department of Elementary and Secondary Schools. He is also teaching at St. Louis University in the Department of Educational Leadership.
1970's
Jane Williams DeWees '70 retired from the Liberty Public Schools and has taken on the job of a full-time pastor’s wife. Jack DeWees '72 is minister at Zion United Methodist Church. Jack and Jane reside in St. Louis, Mo.
Stephen Jones '70 is the pastor of the historic Second Baptist Church in St. Louis. He also authored a book, Peaceteacher, Jesus’ Way of Shalom through Baptist Peace Fellowship of North America.
Fred McConnell '70 retired from the Parkway School District after teaching for 32 years. He now teaches and coaches part-time at John Burroughs High School in Ladue, Mo.
Linda Boswell Tragesser '70 accepted the position of Community Planner for the Southwest Illinois Planning Commission. She resides in Belleville, Ill.
John Hart '71 joined VortexDNA, a provider of Advanced Web 3.0 personalization and business search technology software, as vice president of business development and commercialization.
Richard Lawrence Miller '71 has published his eighth book, Lincoln and His World: The Early Years, Birth to Illinois Legislature. This is the first in a multi-volume series. Richard resides in Kansas City.
Paul "Rick" Glidewell '72 retired after 31 years in the public school system. He was a teacher, coach and administrator, having two state football championships. Rick also officiated at the collegiate basketball play-offs. He resides in O'Fallon, Mo.
Nancy Brenneman Anderson '73 retired after teaching 32 ½ years. She earned the national Board Teaching Certification. Nancy resides in Fayette, Mo.
Jean Neuhauser Baue '73 is the librarian at Concordia Publishing House in St. Louis, Mo. She was made co-principal soprano of the American Kantorci, a professional choir. Her husband, Fred, is pastor of the Bethany Lutheran Church in O'Fallon, Ill. Jean and Fred reside in St. Louis.
Julia Moore Bodenhamer '73 was awarded the Crystal Award for Excellence in Teaching for the Houston/Southeast Texas area and also received the Texas Association of Gifted and Talented Teacher of the Year award for the State of Texas. Julia resides in League City, Texas.
Kay Shelton Kapp '73 and her husband are full-time RV-ers. They spent last winter in southern Texas. This summer they were "Workampers" in Northern Michigan. They are spending this winter in Charleston, S. Car.
Jeri Weisz Schneider '73 custom designs jewelry and sells it from her home. She is also the First Lady of Overland, Mo. since her husband Mike was elected mayor.
Gary Barnes '75 was named "Best of the Bar" by the Kansas City Business Journal. This selection was made by his peers in the Kansas City area. Gary practices with Husch & Eppenberger, and resides in Liberty, Mo.
Joy Thomas Cleaver '75 is an AP English teacher and Chair of the English Department at Guthrie (Okla.) High School. She is an adjunct professor at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. Joy is National Board Certified, a finalist for the Oklahoma State Teacher of the Year, was District Teacher of the Year, is a National AP Test Grader, National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Assessor, and an All-State Academic Coach.
Deborah Gilbert Powell '75 retired after teaching 30 years at the Waynesville (Mo.) High School. She is currently teaching night classes at Drury University. Deborah went on a mission trip with Constructors for Christ. Deborah resides in Richland, Mo.
Debra Dowell Schultze '75 has a 3rd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and is testing next year for her 4th degree. She and Philip Schultze '76 reside in Overland Park, Kan.
Sarah Gambill Tipton '75 serves as the Director of Women's Ministry at Daybreak Church in Carlsbad, Calif. Sarah and her family reside in Carlsbad.
Charlie Funk '76 has been named the President and CEO of ISB Financial Corp., the holding company for Iowa State Bank and Trust Company and First State Bank. ISB and MidWestOne Financial Group have merged into the third largest independent publicly traded bank holding company headquartered in Iowa.
Mary Twitmire Kunce '76 was named Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Art of Living Foundation, a non-profit educational foundation. Mary and her family reside in St. Louis, Mo.
Mark Browne '77 is the City Manager of Terrell Hills, Texas, a suburb of San Antonio. He leads a staff of 48 city employees. Mark is also the announcer for the Randolph Air Force Base High School JV and varsity football games.
Cynthia Neil Walsh '77 is a 4th and 5th grade paraprofessional LD Resource person in the Blue Springs (Mo.) School District.
Charles Wright '78 retired from Lenoir Community College and has accepted an adjunct position in the English Department at Liberty University. This summer, Charles was a featured speaker at the Faithwriter’s Conference in Detroit. Charles and Patricia Easton Wright '88 reside in New Bern, N.C.
Graham Houston '79 rode in his tenth 500-mile Habitat Bike Ride to raise money and awareness for Habitat for Humanity. Graham, and his wife Kathy, will be traveling to Harlaxton to visit with daughter, Jennifer, who is a Junior at Jewell.
Hildy Ann Cordes McElvain '79 and her family traveled to Wales, England, Scotland and Germany. She said a highlight of their trip was the night they spent at Harlaxton Manor-Grantham, sharing Jewell remembrances with her family. Hildy Ann and her family reside in Overland Park, Kan.
Terry Teachout '79 reviewed the Triad Stage's production of "Tobacco Road" for the Wall Street Journal. Howard C. Jones '73 was the designer for this production in Greensboro, N. Car. Terry stated that Howard "evoked the famished, desolate land of 'Tobacco Road’ with breathtaking exactitude, right down to the thick, threatening kudzu and the faded Confederate flag that hangs in the trailer's broken window. Mr. Jones's set is as much a character as any of the actors on stage, and it adds immeasurably to the play’s terrific impact."
Patricia Griffith Wever '79 was one of the nursing alums who went on the medical mission trip to Puerto Cortez, Honduras, which was co-sponsored by Jewell. The Brigada de Salud provided health care to approximately 1,200 patients in five days of clinics. The medical team consisted of 17 members representing six states and Canada. Patricia stated it was a "very memorable and humbling experience." Patricia resides in Dawn, Mo.
1980's
Kent Dicus '80 is restoring an 1887 mansion in downtown Kansas City and is active in neighborhood historic preservation.
Scot Lewey '80, in addition to his private gastroenterology practice, has launched a new website (www.TheFoodDoc.com). This website is a source of information for people of all ages who suffer from food intolerances and food allergies. Scot was inspired to build this website after his wife was diagnosed with a disease triggered by gluten, a protein found in wheat, barley and rye. Scot and his family reside in Colorado Springs, Col.
Tom Nowka '80 is Regional Director of J.D.K. Management. He is also Developmental Coach for the United States Professional Tennis Association and is teaching and coaching on a part-time basis in the Harrisburg, Penn. area.
Terri Viani Agee '81 has been named Acting President at Missouri Southern University in Joplin, Mo. She began her career at Southern as Director of Human Resources, then was promoted to Vice President of Business Affairs.
Holley Powell Smothers '81 was selected the Missouri Art Education Association Teacher of the Year. She was chosen to be a STARR Teacher by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education; is a Facilitator and mentor for NBCT candidates around the country; and has written curriculum for Lexmark as well as for the Atelier’s Art Inside the Park. She is a committee member that helped write the Missouri’s Visual Arts Grade Level Expectations and presents workshops at state and national conferences. Holley and her family reside in Jefferson City, Mo.
Julie Runtz Welch '81 was named one of the "2007 Women-to-Watch" Award Winners by The Missouri Society of CPA's, the AICPA, and Robert Half International. Among the criteria for this selection included the mentoring of other professionals, public or community service, involvement with their alma mater, leadership in workplace initiatives and improvements, and overall contributions to the profession. Julie is a Partner/Shareholder with Meara, King & Company in Kansas City.
Julie Williams Bearce '82 is a registered nurse at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City. She is also teaching in the nursing department at Jewell and is enrolled in the doctorate program at the University of Tennessee.
Mike Machholz '84 was named the NAIA National Wrestling Coach for the years of 1996, 1997 and 2003, the same years his teams won national titles. He was inducted into the Missouri Valley College Athletic Hall of Fame. Mike is the Assistant Athletic Director and Head Wresting Coach at Missouri Valley. He and his wife reside in Marshall, Mo.
Liz Thurman Wallace '84 worked twelve years in the banking industry, and then went back to school to get her teaching certificate. She now teaches seventh and eighth grade math and algebra and also coaches high school and jr. high track and field. Liz and her family reside in Louisiana, Mo.
MaryAnn Adam Evans '85 is co-founder of Nexus Coaching Partners, Inc., a company who focuses on helping those entering retirement to define and reach their transition goals. They also offer work/life balance and other career transition coaching. MaryAnn resides in The Colony, Texas.
Shane Hackett '86 was featured in an article in The Kansas City Star "Star" magazine. Shane, his son, father and grandfather personally delivered 800 pounds of soccer gear to the orphans in Haiti through a Kansas City organization called C3Missions. Shane became involved with this group a few years ago, but this time got to see the children kicking the balls around in patches of dirt. Shane and his family reside in Parkville, Mo.
Sally Burgess Baehni '87 is a team leader serving a 9-month appointment for FEMA/Center for Mental Health Services in Greenburg, Kan. due to the May 4, 2007 tornado.
Terry Stevens '87, after a 20-year career with Sprint, became the President/CEO of the Excellence in Missouri Foundation in Jefferson City, Mo. This organization is the statewide facilitator of the Missouri Quality Award process, utilized by healthcare providers, the public sector, educational institutions and companies of all sizes.
Steven Wohlford '87 has achieved fellowship in the American College of Health Care Executives. He is the Chief Operating Officer at Fayette Regional Health System in Connersville, Ind.
Paul Bredemeier '89 took his wife and three children to visit Harlaxton over their spring break. Paul and his family reside in Overland Park, Kan.
Bill Carr '89 owns his own law firm in Kansas City, Mo. He was named one of the "Best of the Bar" by the Kansas City Business Journal and also awarded the Tom Conway award by the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association. Bill, Andrea Cook Carr '90 and their four children reside in Blue Springs, Mo.
Michael Lawrence '89 was named executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City. Michael has worked this organization since 1992, beginning as a case manager.
Jill Sullivant Pietroburgo '89 and Phil Pietroburgo '92 have started a new mission ministry called "Eagles Wings." The primary purpose is to help families in need to be able to have a vacation experience. The ministry provides rest and renewal for families who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford a get-away. Jill, Phil and their family reside in Hazelwood, Mo.

Jeff Brown '90 had his film, "Galileo’s Grave" selected to be part of the 11th annual LA Shorts Fest, the largest short film festival in the world. Jeff resides in Chicago, Ill.
Daryn Ross '90 won the title of Extraordinary Marketer of the Year at the annual Marketing and Moneymaking Superconference in Chicago, Ill. Nearly one thousand top-notch marketing professionals and business owners from eleven countries were present. Of this group, six persons were chosen to present and Daryn won the title. Daryn, his wife and children live in Kearney, Mo.
Craig Bernard '91 joined the Talking Rain Beverage Company as Director of Sales. He and Rhonda Stiens Bernard '91 reside in Allen, Texas.
Stacie Stonum Bratcher '91 has been inducted into the National Association of Professional & Executive Women’s "Women of Excellence" Registry. Stacie is the Marketing and Communications Manager at Shick USA in Kansas City. This acknowledges Stacie’s successes and professional achievements through her commitment to excellence. Stacie, Rob and their family reside in Liberty, Mo.
Kellie Baumann Bryan '91 is Director of Technology with Sogetia USA. Kellie primarily manages software development projects for clients in the Kansas City area. She also sits on the Executive Board of Community LINC, which is a Kansas City based not-for-profit that focuses on helping families become self sufficient. Kellie, Jeff Bryan '89 and their family reside in Olathe, Kan.
Shelley Temple-Kneuvean '91 has been named Deputy Chief Administrative Officer of Jackson County, Mo. Shelley was formerly the assistant city administrator for Lee’s Summit, Mo. and also Senior Deputy of the Kansas City Business Center for Fannie Mae.
Jonathan Ballard '92 was promoted to Machinist’s Mate Chief Petty Officer in the United State Navy Reserve. He is employed as a plant operator by Evergreen Energy and resides in Gillette, Wyo.
Rebecca Morris '93 is President/Owner of Liberty Psychological Services, which provides mental health services to persons of all ages in Liberty (Mo.) and the surrounding communities.
Jessi Johnson Spini '93 is a Senior Sales Representative for the Non-Medical Benefits Group of Principal Financial Group in San Diego, Calif. She and her husband, Don, reside in Fallbrook Calif.
Christian Thompson '93 was promoted to Vice President of Masterfoods, a Division of Mars Inc. He and Gynetta DeMaria Thompson '94 now reside in Palmer, Penn.
Laura Jay Horton '94 was named to Who’s Who Among American Educators. Laura is an elementary teacher and resides with her family in Lakeland, Fla.
John Stevens '94 accepted the position of Second Vice President with Northern Trust Company. He and his family have relocated to Chicago.
Katie Bowman Alexander '95 received the 2006-07 KPMG International’s "Chairman’s Award" for Outstanding Community Service. Katie is a CPA/Tax Manager for KPMG. She is involved in Mothers of Preschoolers, Oasis Network and Junior League of Denver. Katie, Charles Alexander '96 and their children reside in Highlands Ranch, Col.
Lara Burch '95 earned her Master of Social Work degree from St. Louis University. She is the Social Service Coordinator for The Gladys and Henry Crown Center for Senior Living complex in St. Louis, Mo., which provides affordable housing for the low-income seniors.
Michael Pace '95 received his Ph.D. in Philosophy from Brown University and has accepted a position as Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Chapman University in Orange, Calif. Karyn Johnson Pace '95 earned her Master’s Degree in Education from Boston University. Michael, Karyn and Isabella Pace reside in Long Beach, Calif.
Jeffrey Walker '95 is the Director of Finance and Human Resources for Sunflower House in Shawnee, Kan. Sunflower House is a child abuse prevention center serving both Wyandotte and Johnson Counties in Kansas. Jeffrey and his wife, Alisha, reside in Kansas City, Kan.
Stephanie Springate Beckstein '96 is an Early Childhood Music Teacher and K-8 accompanist at The Pembroke Hill School in Kansas City. She also teaches private piano lessons.
Tina Douglas Haley '96 earned her Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction at UMKC. She is presently working on her Ed.D. in Administrative Leadership from St. Louis University. Tina and her family reside in Plattsburg, Mo.
Chris Myers '96 was promoted to Sales Manager of Japan for LeMaitre Vascular. He also heads up the business development throughout Asia and the Pacific Rim. LeMaitre Vascular is a leading global provider of innovative devices for the treatment of peripheral vascular disease. Chris is living in Tokyo, Japan.
Jennifer Taylor-Ogletree '96 is a Sales Associate with Schering-Plough Pharmaceuticals and was ordained as an Elder in the Presbyterian Church. Jennifer resides with her husband, Shawn, and daughter, Abigail, in Visalia, Calif.
Eric Walker '96 has formed his own internet consulting firm called "Lightburne, Inc." Eric resides in Washington D.C.
Susan Conroy '99 earned her M.B.A. from UMKC. Susan is a senior account executive with a public relations firm in Kansas City, Mo.
Holly Rich Godfrey '99 accepted the position as Rehabilitation Coordinator for the Memory Care Unit of John Knox Village Care Center in Lee's Summit, Mo.
Elizabeth Buckner Hill '99 was in the Queen’s Court of Sales for Mary Kay. Elizabeth, Joe Hill '00 and their family reside in Kansas City.
Sarah Barlow Stevens '99 is an affiliate professor of voice at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan. She also does marketing consulting work through Legacy Regional Community Foundation and their outreach program Tiny Teeth Healthy Habits.
2000's
Scott Bovick '00 is the City Administrator for Nebraska City, Neb. He was named the "Young Nebraskan" by the Nebraska Jaycees. He serves as President of the Nebraska Chapter of the American Society of Public Administrators and plays baseball on the Omaha Men’s Baseball League. He and his wife, Kathy, reside in Nebraska City.
Clinton Gayler '00 was recently designated a Naval Aviator while serving with Helicopter Training Squadron 18 in Milton, Fla. Clinton was presented with the coveted "Wings of Gold," marking the culmination of months of flight training. Clinton followed a training curriculum that included basic studies in engineering and navigation, training flights in simulators, aircraft familiarizations, basic and advanced instrument training, extended navigation flights, and landings and take-offs aboard an aircraft carrier.
Natalie Nimmer '00 has been selected as the new Residence Life Coordinator – First Year Programs at Warren Wilson College in Asheville, North Carolina.
Dawna Payne Watkins '00 received Masters of Divinity degree from Central Baptist Theological Seminary, as did her husband Aaron Watkins.
Wayne Williams '00 was deployed to Iraq as a Brigade Judge Advocate for the 16th Military Police Brigade. Amy Davidson Williams '00 resides in Fayetteville, Ark.
Brett Burchett '01 completed his Master’s degree in Educational Administration at William Woods University and is currently teaching math at the Cass Midway High School in Cleveland, Mo. He is also the assistant varsity football and basketball coach. Brett and Jill Bourland Burchett '04 reside in Freeman, Mo.
Kirk McCullough '01 graduated from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and began his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn.
Caron Bunch Woods '01 graduated from Massage Therapy Training Institute in Kansas City, Mo. She and her husband, Michael, reside in Kansas City North.
Kyle Beverlin '02 received his Masters of Divinity and Masters of Arts and Biblical Languages degrees from Midwestern Baptist Seminary. Kyle accepted the pastor position at Immanuel Baptist Church in Bethany, Mo. He, Christy Shuler Beverlin '03 and son Luke now reside in Bethany.
Mark Graham '02 graduated from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and is an intern in a linked Orthopedic Surgery residence at Pinnacle Health Hospitals in Harrisburg, Penn. Tatiana Lange Graham '03 graduated from UMKC School of Dentistry and is an associate in a dental office in Mechanicsburg, Penn. Mark, Tatiana and their son reside in Camp Hill, Penn.
Loni Parsons Luffman '02 completed her Masters in Education from Baker University. She is a teacher in the Blue Valley (Kan.) School District and resides in Lee’s Summit, Mo.
Amanda Sengel '02 graduated from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, College of Dentistry with Omicron Kappa Upsilon honors, and is currently attending the Medical College of Georgia where she is specializing in Pediatric Dentistry. Amanda resides in Augusta, Ga.
Deanne Walters '02 was awarded the Outstanding Northeast Regional Friend of Beta award from Beta Theta Pi Fraternity for supporting and furthering the principles and initiatives of the organization. She also received the organizations Greek Advisor of the Year, given to one campus-based Greek advisor each year. Deanne works in the Student Life area of Hanover College in Hanover, Ind.
Amanda Crawford '03 completed her Master’s Degree in Business Education at Rockhurst University. She is currently teaching a number of business courses at Olathe (Ks.) South High School, where she also coaches the cheerleading squad and advises the DECA Club.
Becky Dugan '03 is a certified wound care and ostomy nurse at the VA Hospital in Kansas City.
Joel Sager '03 is associate curator/artist in the Perlow-Stevens Gallery in Columbia, Mo.
Erin Barr '04 is working towards her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Missouri – St. Louis. She resides in Maryland Heights, Mo.
Greg Bohner '04 is pursuing his Master’s degree in Psychology and Counseling at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. He resides in Round Rock, Texas.
O. E. Burke '04 has sold the Freedom Surf shop and joined the real estate firm of Thalhimer/Cushman & Wakefield in their Commercial Sales and Leasing area. O. E. and Lindsey reside in Virginia Beach, Vir.
Jay Carter '04 was named by Yale University as the Louise E. McClellan Scholar for the 07-08 academic year at the University's Institute of Sacred Music and will deliver a presentation titled "Sacred, Secular, Male, Female: elements of Gender in Historical Music Performance" during a weekly Colloquium.
Jesse Land '04 took part in a Christian Missions Conference this summer in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Jesse and his wife, Angie, reside in Lawrence, Kan.
Micaela Rostine '04 attends the physical therapy school at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan.
Lindsey Burchett Long '04 earned her Master’s degree in Administration from William Woods College. She teaches in the Archie (Mo.) School District.
B J Cardin '05 accepted the position of Director of Communications with the Orlando Sharks, an expansion team in the Major Indoor Soccer League.
Abby Crossett '05 graduated from MidAmerican Nazarene with a Master’s degree in Educational Technology. Abby is a teacher with the North Kansas City (Mo.) School District.
Emily Mistele '05 has accepted a position with BE Smith, a health care recruitment company in Lenexa, Kan.
Mark Moberly '05 graduated from UMKC with a Masters of Accounting and accepted the position of Assistant Vice President with Hawthorn Bank in Lee’s Summit, Mo.
Alexis Riney Small '05 is a 10th-Grade World History teacher at Lathrop (Mo.) High School. She is also the head softball coach.
Jon Wilson '05 was named District Executive for the Five Rivers District of the Boy Scouts of America’s Great Rivers Council. Jon is a longtime Boy Scout, an Eagle Scout, and a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He resides in Jefferson City, Mo.
Emily Abdoler '06 is studying at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Md. completing a two-year Pre-Doctoral Fellowship in Bioethics. Emily works broadly in the area of clinical research. She will begin her Ph.D. in Genetics in 2009 at Stanford University.
Cam Cooper '06 met the requirements for the Dean’s List at the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis. Cam entered the Dual Degree Engineering Program at Jewell and plans to graduate next spring with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Washington University and a Physics Degree with a Math Minor from Jewell.
Andrew Eaton '06 is working on his Masters degree in Bioscience at Kansas City University of Medicine & Bioscience.
Leslie Gale '06 is the Development Coordinator for The Kampong of the National Tropical Botanical Garden. She resides in Coral Gables, Fla.
Jim Godfrey '06 is a Property Claims Adjuster for Farmer’s Insurance Company in Overland Park, Kan.
Jessica Layman Greason '06 is the Assistant Director of the Jewell Fund at William Jewell. Jessica was a student caller/manager while attending Jewell. She and her husband, Brandon Greason '04, reside in Liberty, Mo.
Chelsea Holmes '06 will head the girls basketball programs at McAuley Catholic High School and also teach physical education at St. Mary’s Elementary School and St. Peter’s Junior High School, all in Joplin, Mo.
