Do
you know any of the 134 individuals
that recently became a permanent
part of the Quad?
Like most colleges and universities,
William Jewell provides special
recognition to individuals who make
substantial contributions to the
College. Introduced last year, the
Circle of 1849 honors William Jewell's
highest level of donors to the Jewell
Fund. Any donor to the Jewell Fund
is eligible for Circle of 1849 membership
with gifts totaling $1,000 or more
during a single fiscal year (July
1 through June 30). This includes
any matching gifts made by companies
who provide this benefit to its
employees.
During
the 2004-2005 academic year -- our
first year for the Circle of 1849
- we welcomed 134 individuals as
inaugural members in this exclusive
society. All first-time members
of the Circle of 1849 are celebrated
by the placement of a brick bearing
their name in the border of the
walkway encircling the Quad; because
the Circle of
1849 was offered for the first time last
year, all of these individuals are now immortalized
on the Quad with bricks in their name.
Would you like to join them? Provide your
Circle of 1849 gift today and ensure your
spot on the Quad forever. And if you join
the Circle for the first time this year,
you will also bring the College an additional
$1,000 from the Shumaker Challenge!
