Leadership
Program Finds a Home
In 2006, the College will dedicate a new
academic facility to support our Leadership
Development Program. The Fred and Shirley
Pryor Center for Leadership Development,
formerly the Kappa Alpha fraternity house
located at 17 South Jewell Street, will
provide critical support to our curricular
and co-curricular leadership programs.

Fran
Schwenk becomes Jewell's 26th Head Football
Coach
The winningest football program in the NAIA
- the William Jewell Football Cardinals
- has a new coach and is poised to enter
the Top 25 in the national rankings!
The Cardinals are currently 4-3 and under
new leadership this season.Fran Schwenk
became Jewell's 26th Head Football Coach,
bringing with him a successful resume from
21 years at Doane College.

Debate
Team Still Strong
After great success in 2004-2005, the Jewell
debate team, led by Dr. Gina Lane, won their
first two tournaments of the season at the
University of Wyoming and Truman State University.
Phil Fuhrman, a senior from Bolivar, MO,
and Luke Landry, a junior from Nixa, MO,
defeated teams from Colorado College and
McKendree University in the finals to win
both tournaments.
