Tom Boyer has been re-elected to the Board of Directors of the Colorado Health Foundation (formerly HealthONE Alliance). With more than $800 million in total assets, CHF is the largest health foundation in Colorado. Tom has helped lead the organization as Chairman of the Philanthropy Committee and as a member of the Executive, Governance and Education committees.

Missouri Governor Matt Blunt has named Ben Chlapek, deputy chief for the Central Jackson County Fire Protection District in Blue Springs, to the State Advisory Council on Emergency Medical Services. Chlapek holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry from William Jewell College and a master's of public affairs from Park University.

Daniel Forrest attended the Cleveland Browns mini-camp on a tryout basis for quarterback.

Changes have occurred at Hometown Bank, N.A in its commercial lending department in the Joplin, Mo., market. Joining the bank's commercial lending department as a relationship manager vice president is Bob Garner. He received his MBA from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Ga., and has more than 10 years of service in the banking industry. "We are pleased to welcome Bob to Hometown Bank. He is a valuable addition to not only our staff but our customers as well," said Jeff Williams, senior executive vice president.

A familiar face will take over as the new head boys' basketball coach at St. Mary's High School in Independence, Missouri. Former St. Mary's assistant coach Jim McMurray is the new boys' basketball coach. He brings 27 years of coaching experience in the high school and college ranks along with a career record of 450-217 to St. Mary's. McMurray began his coaching career as assistant boys' basketball coach at Harmon High School. He has also served as girls' basketball head coach at St. Teresa's Academy for 10 years, women's basketball head coach at Avila University for 11 years and girls' basketball head coach at Raytown South High School for one year. He spent last year as an assistant to Anthony Abbott, who resigned his position at the end of the season. "I'm making the switch from being a girls head coach to a boys head coach, and I couldn't be any more excited," McMurray said. "I see a lot of potential at St. Mary's and think we're going to build something everyone will be proud of." His first year will be special for many reasons, one of which is that it gives him the opportunity to coach his son, James, a senior. "I am looking forward to coaching James," said the elder McMurray, a graduate of William Jewell College. "But I'm also excited about all the talented underclassmen we're going to have. We had 10 seniors on last year's team, so you know we're going to have some new faces this season."
