The Circle of 1849 Challenge! Named for the year William Jewell College was founded, the Circle of 1849 is the institution's premiere annual giving society. The Circle of 1849 recognizes alumni, parents and friends who support the Jewell Fund with an annual donation of $1,000 or more. The Jewell Fund is used to support the current needs of Jewell students and provide a powerful and flexible source of funding for the college. We are excited to announce a generous donor has offered a challenge to new and returning members of the Circle of 1849 who make their gift between now and June 30, 2008! As a first-time member of the Circle of 1849, your leadership level gift of $1,000 or more will be matched dollar for dollar and a brick inscribed with your name will be placed in the path that encircles the Quad! If you are a past member of the Circle of 1849 but did not renew your membership last year, your leadership gift of $1,000 or more will be matched dollar for dollar! If you were a Circle member last year, you can help the college earn a matching bonus by increasing your gift. For example if you gave a gift of $1,000 last year and this year you give $1,500, the $500 will be matched. Investors' Club: $2,500-$4,999 In honor of those who recognize the great returns that come from investing in the future of Jewell. Founders' Club $5,000-$9,999 Named for the original four founders of the College who promoted the cause of “a college among us” in the Missouri River valley in the late 1840s. Benefactors' Club: $10,000-$24,999 Recognizes those who are committed to enhancing the reputation and influence of William Jewell by providing substantial financial support. Legacy Club: $25,000 and more Recognizes those extraordinary donors whose commitment to the mission of the College not only establishes their own legacy, but carries on the legacy of Jewell's original philanthropists.
