1940s
Paul Kincaid ’42 was recognized by The Board of Trustees of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry, Dental Alumni Association, for his 61 years of exceptional service and dedication to the dental profession.
1960s
Mary Anne Adams ’69 received the prestigious Crystal Apple Award from the Michigan State University College of Education for her work as a professional development/human rights consultant for the Michigan Education Association. The Crystal Apple Award honors outstanding educators who represent excellence and commitment. Mary Anne resides in Okemos, Mich.
1970s
Rob Noland ’70 was selected as one of only four chaplains in the U.S. Army to attend the prestigious Army War College, Carlisle Barracks, Penn. He graduated with a Master’s in Strategic Studies and was promoted to Colonel. He now serves as Deputy Command Chaplain for the United States Army Reserve Command at Ft. McPherson, Ga.
Russ Cline ’71 was inducted into the Boys’ Club of New York All Sports Hall of Fame at their annual dinner at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City. Russ was inducted based on his achievements in the sports world and community activity.
Kerry Tremain ’73 is one of the editors of the University of California – Berkley alumni magazine. Kerry was the former executive editor of Mother Jones magazine, and has spent the last 18 months reshaping the century-old bimonthly magazine which is distributed to 95,000 dues-paying members of the Berkley Alumni Association, which publishes it.
Marianne Davis ’75 retired after eighteen years as Director of Nursing at Visiting Nurse Association, Trinity Hospital Home Health. She and her husband are enjoying traveling, lake activities, reading, family and friends. They reside in Lee’s Summit, Mo.
1980s
Byron Motley ’80 has co-authored a book with his father, Bob Motley, entitled “Ruling Over Monarchs, Giants & Stars - Umpiring in the Negro Leagues & Beyond.” Bob Motley is the only living umpire from the historic Negro Baseball Leagues. The story deals with his Negro League days as well as his early life growing up in the KKK- infested South and his harrowing World War II experiences as one of our country’s first black Marines. It contains a foreword by Dionne Warwick and endorsements from Walter Cronkite and filmmaker Ken Burns.
Jody Jensen Shaffer ’86 will have a children’s picture book, “Charlie and Me,” published during this year. The Babybug magazine will publish three of her poems in future publications. Also, her entry in the “Why Did the Chicken Cross the Road?” contest, sponsored by smartwriters.com was chosen as a winner. Jody and her family reside in Liberty, Mo.
Brian Wood ’87 has coached the Miami R-1 football team (8-man) to another District championship. This is their third District championship in seven years. Brian resides in Linn Valley, Kan.
Israel Obieje ’89 was honored as one of the 2006 Alumnus of the Year recipients at Midwestern Baptist Seminary. Israel currently serves as the Director of Global Missions Board of the Nigerian Baptist Convention in Ibadan, Nigera.
1990s
Chris Cormack ’91 has been promoted to Vice President of Operations at Keller Laboratories, one of the top five providers of dental laboratory services in the U.S. Chris has been with Keller for seven years. He resides in St. Louis, Mo.
Myron Neth ’91 has accepted the position of Vice President – Loan Officer at Union Bank’s Englewood branch in Gladstone, Mo.
Valerie Adair Gallup ’92 was named co-administrator of REVA Training Center, an on-line training program designed to train virtual assistants in the real estate niche. She also coaches and teaches the Marketing Module. Valerie owns eSolutions By Valerie, a real estate virtual assistant company. Valerie and her family reside in Liberty, Mo.
L. Lynnae Shannon Smith ’92 is a Continuing Education Coordinator for the Kansas City Metropolitan Community College system at the Penn Valley Campus. Lynnae and her family reside in Liberty, Mo.
Regina Przetak ’93 has accepted the position of Development Director for a domestic violence agency called ALIVE in St. Louis. Part of her responsibilities include writing grant proposals and newsletters.
Dave Reyburn ’94 was named as one of three Employees of the Year for the City of Gladstone, Mo. Dave is the Neighborhood Services Coordinator, and his citation states he goes above the normal expectations of serving the public.
Jay Sebelien ’97 received his M.B.A. from Benedictine College. He resides in Lee’s Summit, Mo.
Richard Bledsoe ’99 was promoted to Signature Client Group with AT&T in St. Louis. His role will be to provide support and manage current AT&T business with St. Louis based Global Companies including Anheuser-Busch.
2000’s
Jill Schmitt Thomas ’00 is a Certified Pediatric Nurse working as the Nurse Manager in the Infectious Diseases and International Adoption Clinics at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.
Amy Sullenger Heldenbrand ’00 recently received her M.S.N. from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. She works as a Family Nurse Practitioner for the Cameron (Mo.) Medical Regional Center and resides in Liberty, Mo.
Tiffany Taylor Sonner ’00 is presently working as a nurse in the Mother/Baby unit at St. Luke’s Hospital South and the Telemetry Unit at the main St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City. Tiffany and her family reside in Gardner, Kan.
Jacob Stauffer ’01 received his Juris Doctorate from Vanderbilt University Law School and owns a law firm in West Plains, Mo. which specializes in estate planning, corporate and elder law. He is also an adjunct professor at Missouri State University, West Plains.
April Hansen Williams ’01 recently received her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri – Kansas City.

Shanna Hilt Hill ’02 was recently selected by the Kansas City Chiefs Cheerleaders organization to be their 2007 Pro Bowl representative. Shanna, a four-year veteran and second year captain of the team, will join the other NFL cheerleading representatives from each NFL team and the selected players for a week in Hawaii during Pro Bowl celebrations leading up to the Pro Bowl at Aloha Stadium in Oahu, Hawaii.
Nicole Adams ’03 recently received her Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Missouri – Kansas City.
Fletcher Cox ’03 received his Master’s of Divinity degree from Harvard and is now a logistician for the |
relief/development programs that are operating in Kurmuk, South Sudan, for the faith-based Samaritan’s Purse.
Matt Pierce ’03 was recently accepted into the Master’s program at Columbia College in Chicago, Ill. He will be pursuing a degree in fine arts in interdisciplinary arts and media.
Ashlee Cochran-Dunham ’04 earned her Master’s of Art in Teaching from the University of Central Missouri and is currently teaching 7th grade Communication Arts at Grain Valley Middle School in Grain Valley, Mo. Ashlee and her husband, Bryan, reside in Warrensburg, Mo.
Courtney Young ’04 was accepted into the Master’s program in clinical counseling at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
Daniel Forrest ’05, quarterback, was recently assigned to the expansion Laredo Lobos of ArenaFootball2 (af2) by the league office. Forrest spent the 2006 season with the Memphis Explorers where he was 3-0 as a back-up. Prior to joining the Explorers, he was invited to the Cleveland Browns Rookie Camp. While at William Jewell, he was 157 for 287 passing for 2,228 yards and 20 TD.
Jonathan Simcosky ’06 is working at an independent bookstore and interning one day a week at a literary agency. He resides in Brooklyn, N.Y.
