Whenever I read reports from Claudia Long about Camp
Youth Alive (click here),
my mind travels back to a special camp I attended when
I was just a kid. To this day, I consider that camp one
of the most significant influences on my entire life.
Every summer that camp challenged me to live out the Christian
life, to reflect Christ at school, to be a witness for
Him, and to share the gospel whenever I could. It was
a tremendous opportunity to get away from my normal routine
and focus my attention wholly on Christ. |

to Africa! The commentary is scheduled for release in

preside over this important event--celebrating the first
Bible commentary written by African theologians. Please
pray that the shipping process will go smoothly and that
the commentaries will all arrive safely and on schedule.

ABWONG, SUDAN
In late April, SIM missionary Jimmy Cox, along with five
Ethiopian and Nigerian missionaries, arrived in Abwong,
southern Sudan. A similar sort of team was flown into
Atar, also in southern Sudan. These new missionaries have
been sent by their respective Ethiopian and Nigerian church
mission boards. From their home churches they will receive
their basic cost of living support. SIM is |
|
underwriting the other logistical, administrative, housing,
and ministry funding. Living conditions are tough. The
heat and humidity are oppressive. They will start in tents
and then build grass huts for living quarters. There is
no electricity, running water, or modern plumbing. But
the opportunities for doing God's work are endless! Please
pray for these "pioneering" missionaries.

Please pray for wisdom and resources for our missionaries
