There is no weapon more powerful for advancing the gospel, nor any defense so sure against the attacks of the devil, than prayer.
That's why I hope you will use this and every issue of our
Harvest newsletter as your companion in prayer.
As you read about the
Guarani radio project, pray that many more people, like Maria's husband, will come to know the Lord through the seeds of the gospel that are scattered across Paraguay through our radio broadcasts.
And when you think about the compassionate work of our
Medan volunteers in Africa, pray that people with AIDS would see the love of Christ through their caring hands and come to know their Savior before it's too late.
At SIM we know that it is impossible to do anything without God. But we also know that with God, nothing is impossible.
That's why prayer is such a vital part of everything we do. It's also why we so appreciate friends like you who are consistently on your knees in prayer for us and for the work that God has called us to do. I know that we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength (Phil. 4:13).
But I also know that Satan would like nothing better than to see our ministries destroyed. In the past few months he has launched numerous attacks, pulling out every strategy he can think of to hinder the cause of Christ. He knows that our work is a threat to his agenda, and he's putting forth tremendous efforts to stop us.
But God is stronger still. I have seen His hand at work in resolving problems and conflicts, and even in bringing healing to those who want to serve him (see
article).
Unfortunately, Satan is not giving up. That's why we must remain vigilant, and we must remain on our knees in prayer. So please, pray for us. We need God's power and protection to keep our ministries guarded against Satan's attacks. Thank you for praying.
