Undergrads Are Giving Back Too

The 2007 College of Chapters brought 350 enthusiastic undergraduates to Lexington, VA for four days to focus on leadership, teambuilding and the core principles of Sigma Nu Fraternity. Brothers connected with each other, developed leadership skills and learned how to bring about effective change in their chapters.

Justin Wenger, Sigma Nu's Director of Education, says the students left College of Chapters with a new perspective and a renewed Sigma Nu spirit. As one student commented on his evaluation, "This experience has changed my life!"

During the College of Chapters, Executive Vice President of the Foundation, Brad Hastings, introduced the undergraduate giving program and explained how the Foundation supports the Fraternity's educational endeavors like College of Chapters. He challenged participants to make a gift that would help surpass the amount given by last year's participants.

Blaine Hust (Gamma Tau, Minnesota) says he made a gift during the program because the Foundation is a great cause. "It's great to be able to contribute and show our alumni that undergrads are committed to furthering the mission of the Foundation as well. It's invaluable to be able to take part in the programs put on by the Fraternity, and our Foundation makes that possible. I will continue to give because I want to be able to provide that for others in the future," he says.

More than 40 other undergraduate brothers stepped up to make a gift at the event, beating last year's giving and raising $3000 for the Foundation, solely from undergraduates.
