Psi Colony Recognized for Leading With Values
In January 2006, Sigma Nu set foot on the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill campus to implement a pilot program for a semester-long expansion effort. Close to a year and a half later at the celebration of their re-chartering, the university honored Psi Chapter with the first-ever |
 |
Leading With Values Award. The award, named for Sigma Nu, is designed to recognize one chapter annually who demonstrates exceptional attention to emphasizing their values through leadership.
UNC's Assistant Dean of Students for Fraternity and Sorority Life, Jenny Levering, stated in a May 2007 letter to the High Council that, "Love, honor and truth were paramount through the Psi Colony expansion process and re-colonization. . . .I could think of no greater way to recognize the student leaders who truly led with values to re-build the Sigma Nu chapter here, than to establish this award. By creating this award and having this colony of men be the first recipients, we hope it will set a high standard for other chapters within our Greek community to also 'lead with values.'" |

The Hopkins Society and Fifth Point Properties Evidence Great Progress
Since our March 2007 announcement of their strategic partnership, The Hopkins Society of Sigma Nu (owners of the Beta chapter home) and Fifth Point Properties are pleased to report they have made great strides in their efforts to restore the Beta Chapter home.
Fifth Point Properties took over management of Beta's |

chapter home at the end of the fall semester in 2006. Since that time, Hopkins Society President Wes Martin and Treasurer Kurt Pilecki have been reviewing with Fifth Point the needs of the chapter home for the purpose of developing short- and long-term plans for the property. In fact, the last significant remodel of the property was in 1986. Since then, only basic maintenance needs have been met. In addition to the Hopkins Society’s desire to have a premiere facility on campus, the University of Virginia is undertaking a major initiative that will put the Beta Chapter home right in the middle of the University's new "front door". |

The GOLD Program Has Reached the 1,000 Donor Mark!
Recent Sigma Nu graduates are demonstrating their loyalty to The Legion of Honor by giving to the Foundation at a greater level than any other generation at their age has given since Sigma Nu's founding.
In 2002, the Foundation began the GOLD (Graduates of the Last Decades) Program designed to educate young alumni about the important funding needs of the Fraternity. Three development officers have been traveling across North America to visit with alumni and share the successes of Sigma Nu’s excellent educational programs and leadership training initiatives. |
