Arkansas Breaks Ground on $5MM House

Located just a stone's throw away from the Student Union and mere steps from the Razorback gridiron on Stadium Drive, Sigma Nus at the University of Arkansas will soon have a new place to call home. On April 5, 2006, Gamma Upsilon active and alumni members donned hard hats and picked up shovels to break ground on a $5 million 22,830-square-foot house scheduled to open its doors in fall 2007. And, regardless of whom you ask locally, this was truly a day for celebration.

This groundbreaking ceremony marks the culmination
Gamma Upsilon Members Ready to Dig In
of both a multi-million dollar capital campaign led by Gamma Upsilon alumnus Gaston Gibson and the continued success of our recently re-chartered Gamma Upsilon Chapter. After a brief closure of our doors in fall 2000, the General Fraternity partnered with university officials and a team of local Gamma Upsilon alumni leaders including the President of the Razorback Foundation Chuck Dicus, Special Assistant to the Chancellor Gary Standridge, and Director of Development John Tolleson to re-establish a positive student presence on campus in spring 2004.
On the Hunt at Southern Utah

Editor's Note: This story originally appeared April 17, 2006, as "On the Hunt, Kids search for Sigma Nu Easter eggs" in The University Journal at Southern Utah University. The Rock would like to thank Journal writer McKenzie Romero for her excellent coverage of our men at Lambda Iota chapter.

The 20th annual Easter egg hunt hosted by Sigma Nu Fraternity boasted more prizes, attendance and excitement than past years. The hunt, Sigma Nu's philanthropic event, took place at the Main Street Park Easter Saturday morning. There were approximately 20,000 eggs hidden in the park that day.

The Sigma Nu Educational Foundation proudly introduces our newest giving society: the 1869 Founders Circle. This giving opportunity will become the backbone of the Foundation's effort to prepare young Sigma Nu brothers for lifelong success.

The 1869 Founders Circle is our newest avenue for brothers to show their loyalty by committing $1000 or more annually for at least five consecutive years. This level of support will provide the Foundation with a dependable projection of future

cash flow in order to help us plan strategically for our investment in leadership and educational programs.
