Convention
to Offer Golf Tournament and 5K Run/Walk Options
Grand Chapter Registration is now online!
With hopes of drawing an even larger crowd
to convention this year, Regent Don Densborn
(Beta Eta - Indiana) has called for an
|
|
unprecedented number of extra activities to be planned
in conjunction with the 62nd Grand Chapter.
Two of the most notable additions include a Sigma
Nu Golf Tournament and a 5K Run/Walk to benefit
Sigma Nu's Helping Hand Initiative. Although these
events are open for both alumni and undergraduate
participation, each will actually occur as pre-convention
events on Saturday, July 15, 2006.
Think you might be interested in either event? Read
on for more information on how to participate!
Sigma
Nu Golf Tournament
The Sigma Nu golf tournament will be held
at Brickyard Crossing, a truly unique championship-caliber
public golf course located on the grounds
of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS).
This Pete Dye-designed course features four
holes within the infield of the IMS oval track
and is ranked the 47th best course
in the country by Golf Digest. Brickyard Crossing
is conveniently located just ten minutes from
the heart of downtown Indianapolis and is
a course you'll be talking about for years
to come!

this approximately 5K or 3.2 mile course follows
the banks of the Canal in downtown Indianapolis
as it winds its way through White River State
Park. Proceeds from this event will be donated
to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital,
a Sigma Nu Helping Hand Partner. |
|
St. Jude is one of the world's premier centers for
research and treatment of catastrophic diseases
in children, primarily pediatric cancers. It treats
children from around the world without regard to
race, religion, creed, or ability to pay. St. Jude
also enjoys a worldwide reputation as a teaching
facility and freely shares its scientific discoveries
with doctors and scientists everywhere.
Cost: $15.00 for students (with ID) and $25.00
