Olympic Games 2012

In support of New York City's bid for the Olympic Games in 2012, Sigma Nu has partnered with NYC2012 as the exclusive fraternity partner in their quest to sign up over 60,000 volunteers. No Olympic Bid City has ever attempted to recruit this many volunteers!

Sigma Nu members have the opportunity to sign up as voluntary Informational Ambassadors who will help to demonstrate our country's passion for the Olympic Games. Information Ambassadors will receive current information and updates via e-mail. They are asked to stay informed about current NYC2012 events and spread the word about the bid, and then use that information to encourage their family and friends to sign up as well.

There is no cost and the time commitment is completely up to the individual volunteer. Furthermore, Sigma Nu members who volunteer may be invited to attend, or participate, in some exciting events, including promotional television activities, concerts, and sporting events. The goal is to have 60,000 individuals pledge their support to bring the Games to the United States during this final phase of the bid, ending, hopefully, with the selection of New York City on July 6, 2005.

Sigma Nu and NYC2012 would like you to encourage Sigma Nu undergraduates and alumni members to support New York City's bid for the Olympic Games by signing up to serve as Information Ambassadors today at volunteer.nyc2012.com. Make sure to select Sigma Nu as your organization from the Organization/Company pull down menu on the right hand side of the website. If you have any questions, check out the NYC2012 website at www.nyc2012.com or call (540) 463-1869.
