Bid for Brotherhood

The Foundation will host its first-ever Bid for Brotherhood (B4B) in conjunction with the 62nd Grand Chapter to be held in Indianapolis, Indiana on July 15-19, 2006. The B4B is a live and silent auction, which will be held on July 14 to kick off the Grand Chapter. In addition, 50-60 days prior to the event, alumni and members will have the opportunity to view and bid on the items via an online site. So, you don't have to make it to Grand Chapter to be part of B4B!

We already have received many wonderful auction items including:

A pearl and onyx membership badge

Custom bottles of Maker's Mark bourbon

One-week stay at a condo in the Bahamas

5 nights lodging in Manhattan near Carnegie Hall, just south of Central Park

A pheasant / quail hunting trip and tickets to a Big 10 football game in Iowa

Chapters and alumni are encouraged to support this event. Ideal donations include: frequent flyer miles / points, vacation rentals, sporting event tickets and autographed memorabilia. Alumni living in the Indianapolis area are encouraged to contribute items of local interest for those attendees who are from the area. Click here for a complete list of additional auction item suggestions.

Alumni who own a business can have their contributed items linked to their company's website. Also, sponsors will be listed on the auction website (with links to businesses) as well as included in the printed materials at the actual event.

All donations are tax-deductible to the declared value of the item. Those interested in donating a service, trip or other item in support of the Bid for Brotherhood should contact James Owens.

If you have plans to attend Grand Chapter, make sure you arrive by the 14th so that you can attend B4B. For those who cannot make Grand Chapter, future issues of The Rock will include instructions for entering the online auction site!

Every member of Sigma Nu is invited to attend this exciting event that will raise funds to serve our brotherhood. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Sigma Nu Educational Foundation which underwrites the educational and leadership programs of the Fraternity.
