Educational Foundation Helps Housing Corporations Raise Funds

Many of Sigma Nu's chapter homes across the country are in need of major repairs or renovation. Other chapters are simply in need of a house to call home. Regardless of circumstance, local chapter house corporations often turn to their alumni for financial support to make these dreams become reality. And, in many cases, our house corporations lack the resources and skill needed to maximize their fundraising efforts. Invariably, they turn to outside service providers for assistance.

However, the Sigma Nu Educational Foundation has the capability to offer these services to our local house corporations. Their mission for Chapter Capital Campaign services is: To provide professional fundraising and project consulting to Sigma Nu Chapters in assisting their efforts to provide 21st century housing for all members.

To accomplish this, the Sigma Nu Educational Foundation now offers a variety of services including:

Pre-Campaign Feasibility Study –- The feasibility study will determine what the potential of your campaign could be. It will also determine other factors such as strategy, volunteer input, potential hurdles and pitfalls, as well as identify those alumni with whom we have not recently been in contact.
Chapter Capital Campaign –- We design and manage a campaign to meet the needs of your specific project.
Chapter Educational Funds and Chapter Scholarship Accounts –- These are funds established by alumni for the benefit of a specific chapter to be used for scholarships, housing, and leadership opportunities for members.

Currently, the Sigma Nu Educational Foundation is assisting two chapters with Pre-Campaign Feasibility Studies. In addition, there are another seven house corporations currently reviewing feasibility study proposals.

In the area of Chapter Capital Campaigns, the Educational Foundation is currently managing campaigns for two chapters. A third chapter has completed a feasibility study and is currently reviewing a campaign proposal.

Finally, in the area of Chapter Educational Funds and Chapter Scholarship Accounts, the Educational Foundation has worked with alumni from over 75 chapters in establishing these accounts.

The Educational Foundation is beginning to play a major role in assisting our chapters to meet their housing needs.
