Nascar Items Added To The Bid For Brotherhood Organizations like Ducks Unlimited and local arts groups have been holding successful charity auctions for years. These auctions are popular not only because of the social aspect of the event, but also for the opportunity to bid on unique items and support a worthy cause. Then came eBay! Now you can sit in the comfort of your home

or office and bid on exclusive trips, golf balls, autographed memorabilia, vintage clothing. . . just about anything.

Given the success of these auctions, it was only a matter of time before Sigma Nu ventured into this arena with our first-ever Bid for Brotherhood (B4B) live and silent auction. The online auction is currently underway. We have more than 60 items to bid on and new items are added each week.

You can find a jeweled initiation badge, Sigma Nu throws and sportswear. There is autographed memorabilia, tickets to live events, and great destination packages from hunting in Iowa to staying in a luxury condo in the Big Apple.

What makes charity auctions so unique is the opportunity to bid on items that are not available to the general public or are very difficult to obtain. We are fortunate to have a few such items. Brother Boyd Tinsley, the violinist for Dave Matthews Band, has contributed 2 tickets and V.I.P. passes to any of the band’s concerts this year. We also have available 1983 bottle of Chateau Petrus, a one-page ad in The Delta magazine, and Brother Joe Buck has contributed his personal seats for a St. Louis Cardinals home game.

For all of you NASCAR fans, we have just added numerous 2005 Nextel Cup Champion Tony Stewart autographed items to the site. We have everything from a Tony Stewart mouse pad to hats to a twill uniform jacket. Earlier this week we also added 2 Pit-Passes for the entire Bass Pro Shops MBNA 500 weekend at the Atlanta Motor Speedway (October 27-29, 2006). These include access to the Georgia Power Qualifying Night on Friday; the EasyCare Vehicle Service Contracts 200 Craftsman Truck Series Race and the Crown Royal IROC Series event on Saturday; and the Bass Pro Shops MBNA 500 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Race on Sunday.

These and many other items are now available for bidding via our online auction site. This site will remain open until July 9th. The person with the highest bid via the online site will have the option of having a surrogate place bids for them during the live event.

The live B4B event will be held the evening of July 14th as the kick-off event for the 62nd Grand Chapter (Indianapolis, Indiana on July 15-19, 2006). Proceeds from the event will benefit the educational programs of the Fraternity.
