Latest Inductees into the Sigma Nu
Hall of Fame
In order to be inducted into the Sigma
Nu Hall of Fame a Brother must have brought
credit to his nation, to his profession,
himself and to Sigma Nu. Joseph F. Buck,
the Honorable James McCrery and Boyd Tinsley
are the most recent inductees into the
Sigma Nu Hall of Fame.
The first inductee, Joseph F. Buck (Indiana)
began his broadcasting career in 1989,
while he was an undergraduate at Indiana
University. That year he did baseball
play-by-play |
|
for
the Louisville Redbirds of the American Association,
a minor league affiliate of the Cardinals, and
was a reporter for ESPN's coverage of the Triple-A
All-Star Game. He began his FOX play-by-play career
in the NFL on FOX broadcast booth, where
he worked from 1994-1997.
In just eight years, this inductee has earned
the distinction as one of sports' premier play-by-play
broadcasters, as evidenced by his four consecutive
Emmy Award wins from 1999 through 2003. For the
8th consecutive baseball season, he has teamed
with analyst Tim McCarver to comprise Major
League Baseball on FOX's lead announcing team.
In April of 2003, each once again brought home
awards for Outstanding Play-by-Play and Event
Analyst, respectively. Joe capped off a stellar
rookie campaign for Major League Baseball on
FOX in 1996 when, at age 27, he became the
youngest play-by-play announcer to call a World
Series since the legendary Vin Scully sat behind
the mike during the 1953 Fall Classic. |

Sigma Nu girl,
you'll always be
Sigma Nu girl,
dearest to me.
All of my worries
and cares depart
When you wear
the White Star on your heart.
Sigma Nu girl,
someday you'll know
Dreams will come true;
I love you so.
Our star will shine
pledge of the time
When you are mine
in Sigma Nu.
Sigma Nu history is rich with strong men whose leadership
has built the fraternity into what it is today. |

. . . that you can have guaranteed income for life and
help further the Sigma Nu mission? With the stock market
and investment income fluctuations wouldn't it be great
to know that you can lock in a guaranteed rate of income
for the remainder of your life? Think of it, no matter
what the market does, you will continue to receive consistent
payments. Now that is what I call peace of mind!
