Time Flies When You're Having Fun!
In the hustle and bustle of our modern lives, so
many of us are too busy running the "rat race" to make
time for much else, including volunteering or philanthropic
service. Never fear! Here are some tips to help you manage
your time so that you can spend more of it doing what
you really love.
 |
Establish
goals. Once you write down your goals, hopes
and dreams, you make achieving them that much more
likely. Write down what's most important to you,
and then use that as a guide for how you'll spend
your time. |
 |
Keep
a prioritized "to do" list. Monitor the tasks
you have on your plate, and check off those that
you complete. By prioritizing, you can make certain
you accomplish the most important or the most difficult
tasks first. And, you'll feel great about yourself
when you see all the "to dos" marked off! |
|
|
 |
Just
say NO. There comes a point when you will be inundated
with requests for your time. You have to determine what's
most important to you and say no to other requests. Don't
spread yourself thin trying to do too much to please others. |
 |
Keep
a calendar. One of the best ways to manage your time
is to keep a monthly view calendar. Pencil in all of your
appointments, deadlines and tasks. When your days start
to fill-up, don't over schedule. And, be sure to allot
some quiet time for yourself at least once a month. |
 |
Ask
for help. If you find yourself getting overwhelmed,
ask for help. Your spouse, friends, neighbors or Phi Mu
Sisters can help you pull through a particularly hectic
time until you get your schedule back under control. Asking
for help is a mark of courage, not weakness, so don't
hold back. |
Spend
your time with the ones you love, and spend it doing the things
you love. After all, time really does fly when you're
having fun.
