Holidays make you want to scream?

As 2004 winds its way down and we ready ourselves for the new year, we find ourselves dashing from one place to another. Holiday shopping. After-work parties. Family gatherings. Socials with friends. With the increasing action comes increased opportunities for stress. To keep you calm, cool and collected this season, follow our list of dos and don'ts. You'll be glad you did!

Do shop online to avoid mall traffic and waiting in lines.

Don't over schedule yourself with parties.

Do schedule time for yourself and your family.

Don't tire yourself by trying to do all your shopping for everyone at once.

Do space out your shopping by making purchases during your lunch hour. Be sure to shop with specific goals in mind of who and what you're shopping for.

Don't pay full price. There are too many good sales going on now, so don't break the bank.

Do watch your favorite holiday special on television. Reminisce about your favorite holiday memory.

Don't neglect exercising. It's a great tension reliever and will help keep off the extra holiday pounds.

Do pamper yourself before going to holiday parties. Even if you simply light a candle and play your favorite tunes while getting ready, take some time for yourself.

Don't shop last minute, if you can help it. If you must, take advantage of stores' extended holiday hours by shopping earlier in the morning or later in the evening.

Do remember that this is the time of year for celebrating family and friends. The holiday season will be over before you know it.
