2008 Presidents Leadership Academy
Dates Announced
A model within the Interfraternal world, Phi Psi’s Presidents
Leadership Academy (PLA) is scheduled for January 25-27,
2008 at Laurel Hall in Indianapolis, IN. The program is
specifically designed for chapter presidents who together
with lead facilitators and small group leaders will put
the role of a leader under a microscope.
Under the guidance of trained facilitators, undergraduates’
notions of what it means to be a chapter leader will
give way to fresh ideas as they explore their Phi Psi
experience, individual values, group values, organizational
management, goal setting and personal development. Registration
for the program will be available starting Monday, November
12, 2007 and is limited to 70 total participants. The
registration deadline is January 5, 2008.
The conference begins with an opening session mid-afternoon
on Friday and adjourns on Sunday at approximately the
same time. This year’s program will feature an optional
Sunday afternoon session where attendees can meet with
Phi Kappa Psi staff, alumni and undergraduate leaders
in order to discuss chapter management issues. It will
begin approximately one hour after the end of the standard
PLA programming. Participants planning on attending
the optional session are requested to make note of their
desire to attend when registering.
Do attend PLA if:
 |
You are a Chapter President, Vice
President or chapter leader |
 |
You want to learn leadership training theory and
techniques |
 |
You want valuable tools that can help your chapter |
Don’t attend PLA if:
 |
You have attended before |
 |
You are looking for the Headquarters staff to
tell you how to run your chapter |
 |
You are not into working long days |
This type of leadership experience is rare among college
fraternities. The Academy is funded through a grant
from the Phi Psi Foundation. Thus, all travel and enrollment
costs are paid! The only charge is a $75 investment
fee for the program. The money can come from participants,
the chapter or the house corporation.
For additional information and to register online visit
the Fraternity’s website.
Also, undergraduates should be on the lookout for more
information sent via mail and email. The Fraternity
is looking forward to this year’s Presidents Leadership
Academy and participants’ attendance at this dynamic,
educational and high energy program.
