Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity Names New Director of Alumni Services
William L. Haskett is a graduate of Butler University and is the new Director of Alumni Services of Phi Kappa Psi. Will received his Bachelor of Arts in telecommunication with a minor in public relations. His concentration was sports journalism and broadcasting, and Will has been able to do some impressive work with his educational background. While at Butler, Will was the sports editor for the campus newspaper, The Collegian, sports director for the campus TV station, WTBU, and has spent the last 6 seasons broadcasting Butler men’s basketball on radio.
After graduating, Will was an assistant golf professional at The Hawthorns Golf and Country Club in Fishers, Ind., and left that position in 2004 to become the Assistant Director of Alumni and Parent Programs at Butler University, where he was in charge of regional alumni chapters, young alumni and athletic alumni. He served in that capacity until October 2006, when he took the position of Director of Alumni Services with the Fraternity.
When asked why he chose to take the position at National, Will said "I had a tremendous undergrad experience at Butler. When the opportunity arose, I couldn’t think of a better way to give back to an organization that gave me so much. I will always remember my classes and professors, but it is those lifelong lessons learned from experience with Phi Psi that will stick with me the longest."
Will has high hopes for his new position and is bringing a lot of experience. "We have established a strong network of alumni volunteers and associations, but I would like to create a more organized communication strategy to our alumni volunteers and open a more consistent dialogue of information sharing."
When Will isn’t watching sports, announcing sports or playing sports, he and his wife, Mandy, like to indulge themselves with nice meals as much as possible. He likes working out, getting a round of golf in when the weather is nice and watching movies.
