Join in Phi Psis Growth
With over 103 active chapters and 11 colonies seeking official recognition, expansion and growth continue to be top priorities for Phi Kappa Psi. Four out of the eleven colonies are reestablished chapters: Bowling Green, Iowa State, Oregon and Temple, and the other seven are being started at new host campuses around the country.
There are several important factors that determine where and when Phi Psi will organize a group. Phi Kappa Psi will exist at public or private educational institutions where students receive four year degrees. The level of alumni involvement is another crucial component to the success of a chapter. Alumni volunteers are vital in forming the colony’s traditions and ensuring that they develop into a strong group. Finally, the status of the Greek community at the educational institution is important. While the Greek community may be strong, there might be other outside factors which inhibit Phi Kappa Psi from starting a chapter or bringing an existing one back.
Growth is essential to Phi Kappa Psi, but we can’t do that without key alumni involvement and alumni associations taking interest in that growth. To find out more about alumni associations in your area and how to become a part of one, please contact Will Haskett, Director of Alumni Services, at WLH@PhiKappaPsi.com.
