Phi Kappa Psi Invites Guests to Experience A Distinguished Setting for Special Events

Nestled amidst six acres of nature's elegant wardrobe … laden with opulent hardwood, marble and limestone … flooded with sunlight that pours through its expansive windows … marked by privacy and distinction … the majestic Laurel Hall leaves guests awestruck.

This historic manor was purchased by the Phi Kappa Psi Foundation in 2005 to house the Fraternity and Foundation national offices and education center. The facility also plays host to a myriad of public and private events, ranging from wedding receptions and chapter dinners to conferences, family reunions, corporate retreats and public meetings.

Combining beauty and character with modern convenience, Laurel Hall creates a classic backdrop for every occasion. The property has also proven a high-profile addition to Indiana's landscape for nearly a century, its history rich and varied.

In 1916, one of Indiana's wealthiest and most tragic figures built the private estate on 1500 acres as a haven for his family. Just a decade later, the effects of World War I had decimated Stoughton A. Fletcher's fortune, his wife had committed suicide and the bank had seized Indianapolis' crown jewel.

For the next four and half decades, Laurel Hall was owned by the Sisters of Providence, who operated an all-girls Catholic boarding school. The institution was patronized by wealthy families from throughout the country. Yet in the mid-1960's, enrollment failed to match the Sisters' ambitious plans for growth, and another chapter in Laurel Hall's history was closed.

Investor Robert Welch purchased the property and in 1970 constructed the condominium complex that still surrounds Laurel Hall today. By 1982, the regal clubhouse facility proved a financial burden, and Welch relinquished control of Laurel Hall and the six acres on which it now rests.
A non-partisan political think tank housed their offices in Laurel Hall between 1984 and 2004.

In a bold and decisive move, the Foundation took ownership in May 2005 to meet its growing needs for office accommodations, parking, meeting rooms and educational space. The Fraternity looks forward to adding its indelible impression upon the long and illustrious history of Laurel Hall. In addition, Phi Psi continues the tradition of opening its home to others, hosting events of all sizes, in every season.

The facility offers ample usage of both indoor and outdoor areas for maximum flexibility. And because Laurel Hall is designed for people with high
standards and discerning taste on most any budget, it affords individual style at any gathering. The Foundation and Fraternity extend a special
invitation to chapters and alumni groups seeking a place to hold an alumni reunion, leadership event, educational meeting or summer get-together.

Laurel Hall is located in the northeast area of Indianapolis just south of Fall Creek Parkway at 5395 Emerson Way. For more information about reserving this pristine property for chapter events, family parties or other special occasions, visit www.Laurel-Hall.org or call (317) 275-3390.
