STARKVILLE, MISSISSIPPI - In January 2007, 30 members of the Mississippi Beta chapter of Phi Delta Theta at Mississippi State University volunteered with Habitat for Humanity to assist Hurricane Katrina victims in Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi.

Sleeping and eating at a local church, these young Phis spent three days, during their holiday break, in the ravaged area building homes that will be inhabited by returning residents. Over 600 man hours were contributed by Mississippi Beta during this rebuilding effort. For the Fall 2006 semester alone, this Phi Delt chapter complied over 1000 hours of community service.
