Pursuant helps Theta Foundation
Double Fundraising Results
Pursuant created a website for the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation that sent their fundraising campaign viral and delivered incredible results
Client Profile
Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation began in 1960 as a means of raising funds to support the philanthropic and educational opportunities for members of the Fraternity. Today, it continues as a pillar of support for its individual members, chapters, and the Fraternity at large.
“Pursuant helped us develop the perfect tool that incorporated our needs and exceeded expectations.”
- Jennifer Kendall Pendleton, CFRE, Executive Director, Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation
Challenge
Pansy Patch, the fundraising campaign for the Theta Foundation’s biannual convention, allows Theta chapter members to purchase pansies in honor of one another and raise money for the organization. The campaign needed an online presence that allowed them to leverage the Internet to gain buzz and increase participation and results.
Solution
Pursuant developed a website that allowed gifts to be purchased, as well as functionality that allowed members to search the chapter databases and gift other members directly. This created an intended viral effect, as members were notified of gifts made in their honor via email and given the opportunity to make a gift of their own.
Results
Thanks to the website, the fundraiser was no longer bound to the convention. In fact, 75% of the money was raised before the convention even began. The online tool developed by Pursuant produced more than twice the amount raised the year before, and more than doubled the average gift.
