"Generous Churches" Hold First Gathering
The inaugural Generous Churches Leadership Community met in March in Dallas, with 40 participants representing 12 churches from California to New York City, Minnesota to south Florida. In their two-year plans, five of the churches included the hiring of a senior staff member to be responsible for instilling generosity as a core value in the culture of their congregations.

During a creative exercise, one church team dreamed aloud of creating a church where people give at the levels they are called to. The hope: A church that funds its programs, staff and facility on 20% of its offerings, while sending 80% outside the church walls to kingdom ministries.
