Presence

His presence is imposing. At six feet seven inches, his entrance into a room commands attention. His winsome, warmly engaging personality only enhances the impact of his presence. I greatly respect him and find pleasure in being in his company.
My thoughts have been on the impact of presence lately. These thoughts were initiated by a conversation suggesting that my presence, at times, creates negative pressure filled with undefined expectations and a critical air, lacking affirmation - not a good presence!
Not so with God! The presence of God in our lives is a place of safety and blessing - yielding a rich and abundant life. Moses revealed his understanding of the importance of God's presence with the enslaved children of Israel when he said, |

| I need the presence of God in my life. The truth is that He is present - I just don't abide with Him or look toward Him. If I did, my thoughts, words, and behavior would be different. Will you join me this week intentionally abiding with Him? |
