Gamma
Phi Beta Inspires Philanthropic Spirit
When Dr. Judy E. Graham (Oklahoma) was pursuing
her Ph.D., a Founders Fellowship from the Gamma
Phi Beta Foundation provided the funds for her
first computer, which she used to analyze statistical
data and write her dissertation. "Personal
computers were still a relative novelty at that
time and costly," said Judy, who currently
is employed in the Public Health Division of
Eli Lilly and Company.
As an undergraduate, Judy worked summers at
the former Gamma Phi Beta Camp in Sechelt, British
Columbia. "Working with underprivileged
and emotionally disturbed girls cemented my
decision to work in the human service field,"
she said. It also led her to become involved
in the Gamma Phi Beta Foundation during its
initial actions to ensure an autonomous board.
In addition to being a member of the Foundation
Board of Trustees for many years, she has served
as International Camping Chair and International
Philanthropy Chair and has been a member of
the Endowment Loan Board and the Public Relations
Committee of the Foundation. |

“Mom has suffered from dementia
for many years, but still knows how
to give the secret handshake,”
Judy said. |
