October 2005 | Vol. 1 Number 2
The Foundation Board of Trustees is meeting in Houston in support of Elizabeth Ahlemeyer ("Betty") Quick as she and Gamma Phi Beta are installed as Chairman of the National Panhellenic Conference. While there, the Trustees will participate in a NASA tour arranged by Dr. Jonathan Clark, Laurel Clark's (Wisconsin) widower. Four new Trustees will attend the meeting: Lynn Towsley White (Colorado-Boulder), Sandy Biegelman Burba (Miami-Ohio), Mary Ellen Porter Burchfield (Iowa State) and Mary Vanier (Kansas State). In all, the Foundation has 18 Trustees who are combining business with the NPC Chairmanship celebration -- an event that happens for a Sorority only once every 52 years! We are particularly excited to be presenting to NPC the newly created scholarship endowment in honor of Betty Quick and Gamma Phi Beta which will provide educational assistance to a NPC member and to a Gamma Phi Beta collegian annually.

Due to displaced students affected by the recent hurricanes and the rising cost of living for our students, the need for scholarship assistance from the Foundation is ever increasing. Applications for financial aid must be received by January 31, 2006, so now is the time for students to begin assembling information and gathering references. Download the application or contact the Foundation office directly at 303-799-1874, extension 342.
