Robotics Program Provides Hands-On Learning for ESHS Students
Beginning in 2006, a portion of the ESEF grant to the El Segundo Unified School District was designated to support a robotics program that would attract students to careers in aerospace, science and engineering. As part of the program, a team of ESHS students and volunteer mentors from local corporations invests six intense weeks to build a functional robot for entry into a local competition. In only the second year of the program, last year's team won Rookie of the Year.

Superintendent's Roundtable - Save the Date
Members of the Superintendent's Roundtable are invited to join the new ESUSD Superintendent Geoff Yantz at the Superintendent's Roundtable Dinner on October 29, 2007, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Automobile Driving Museum in El Segundo. The event will catered by Second City Bistro.

ESEF Tile Bench Dedication
Join the El Segundo Educational Foundation on Sunday, October 28th at 11:00 a.m. for Art Among the Trees and the dedication of the ESEF Tile Bench at Plaza El Segundo in the Children's Fountain Area. Additional events will be held throughout the weekend at Plaza El Segundo from noon to 5:00 p.m. with music and art groups, in-store promotions and food samples at participating restaurants. |
