Strokes of Genius Tournament a Success More than 130 golfers and tournament sponsors were in attendance at the El Segundo Educational Foundation's 17th Annual Strokes of Genius Golf Tournament at the Rio Hondo Golf Club

on Friday, May 6th. Each year this tournament brings the best mix of corporate sponsors and community supporters together for a fun-filled day of golf and fellowship with all proceeds going to El Segundo schools. This year the total amount raised was more than $10,000!

The overall tournament champion was Ed Hontilsan, and the woman's tournament champion was Ellie Castiel. First place winner of the A Flight Low Net was Brent Enright and the first place winner of the B Flight Low Net was Ed Su.

Tournament Chairman Mike Dugan expressed his appreciation to the many businesses and individuals who contributed by sponsoring everything from golf carts and tee signs to golf shirts and raffle prizes. "The ESEF is grateful for the support of our local businesses that contribute each year and participate in this great event. We couldn't do it without you!" Even though no one won the Hole-in-One prize, a 2005 Ford Mustang, sponsored by South Bay Ford and Jeff Lyman, many walked away with

valuable raffle items. Some of the favorite items were two tickets to the ESEF King Tut event on September 24th, tickets for four to a Dodgers game, restaurant gift certificates, hotel stays and of course, golf gear.

Proceeds from this year's tournament were applied to the Foundation's Bridge the Gap campaign which raised $250,000 during the 2004-2005 school year for the El Segundo Unified School District. The Strokes of Genius Golf Tournament Committee would like to thank all the sponsors and participants for making this a successful event!
