Bequests: Considering the Future of El Segundo's Public Schools

The El Segundo Educational Foundation (ESEF) is committed to supporting El Segundo's Public schools in order to help provide an excellent education for our local students. Every year we raise funds to support current needs for classrooms and campuses by garnering financial support from the corporate and residential communities.

This year, we began to place an additional focus on generating funds today that will support our students in the future through estate planned gifts to the El Segundo Educational Foundation. If you've ever thought about naming a charity in your will, consider that during your lifetime, a bequest is:

• Private, • Changeable at any time, and • Does not deprive you of the use of assets or income.

Once made known to the ESEF, these bequests will enable the Foundation to plan for the future, secure in knowing there is a significant source of predicted income to provide for future generations of El Segundo students.

Customarily, donors who designate a bequest provide the ESEF with a letter of intent and copies of the following elements of their will or trust document:

•	The document's opening paragraph specifying it is the most current version.
•	The specific language of the bequest to the El Segundo Educational Foundation.
•	The document's signature page.
