Parents Make Sure ESUSD Schools Get a Boost!

Congratulations! Every school in the El Segundo Unified School District can celebrate after meeting and exceeding ESEF's Boost Your School! challenge, which wrapped up in March. Announced in January, the goal for Boost Your School was to increase participation and awareness among the 2,200 families whose children are students in the District by encouraging every stake-holder to become involved in the ESEF's $500,000 fundraising effort for the 2006-2007 school year.

Schools Get a Boost!
Richmond Street Elementary was the first school in the District to qualify for a $2,500 cash grant in mid-February for reaching an astounding 71 percent family participation, based on donations of $25 or more to the ESEF. At the end of the Boost Your School! challenge, the high school achieved 25 percent family participation and the middle school achieved just over 26 percent, earning both schools a $1,000 grant. Center Street Elementary reached more than 61 percent family participation and Richmond Street Elementary finished with an impressive 91 percent, earning both schools a $2,500 grant.
