DONOR DIALOGUE

I thought I gave this year already – Fiscal Year vs. Calendar Year
Delta Zeta’s fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30. The Foundation begins campaigns in the fall and wraps them up in the spring of each year.  Since, donors report charitable giving on tax returns for the previous calendar year the Foundation sends out a Tax Summary mailing at the end of January which provides the total given during the previous calendar year.

How is the Foundation trying to “Go Green?”
Sorority and fraternity foundations, like most national non-profit groups, rely on large mailings to communicate with their donors about the need for support.  In an effort to cut down on mailing costs (and save a few trees!) the Delta Zeta Foundation added email campaigns to help us reach out to our newest members and current donors who prefer electronic communications.  These email campaigns have included “Delta Zeta is Going Places” and “The Three Wishes of Delta Zeta.”

The collegiate campaign is done completely electronically!  This year's 1902 Loyalty Circle campaign kicked off in early February.  Check out the campaign here!

And of course, you are reading our electronic newsletter, In Touch, which is sent four times per year to all members with e-mail addresses on file.  We want to stay in touch and go green too!

Guy Potter Benton Society
The Guy Potter Benton Society recognizes the generosity of alumnae and friends who donate $1,000 or more to the Annual Fund each fiscal year.  Named for Delta Zeta’s Grand Patron, Dr. Guy Potter Benton, these unrestricted funds support educational programming and initiatives that strengthen and enhance our Delta Zeta experience.

Guy Potter Benton Society members can make monthly contributions of $84 per month, quarterly gifts of $250, or semi-annual gifts of $500 each.  Membership in this society is based on gifts during the fiscal year – July 1 to June 30.  If you’d like to join the Guy Potter Benton Society for the 2007-2008 year, you still can!  Your support is needed.

Special thanks to all of our current Guy Potter Benton Society members.  You make a difference!

Oxford Society
The Oxford Society recognizes and honors those alumnae and friends who include the Delta Zeta Foundation as a beneficiary in their will/estate plans.  Planned giving does not have to be complicated!  For more information about the Oxford Society or about including the Delta Zeta Foundation in your will/estate plans, please contact the Foundation.

Recognizing Lifetime Giving
The Delta Zeta Foundation recognizes the lifetime contributions of every member.  We are grateful for the consistent support of our alumnae and friends.  A chart of lifetime giving levels can be found on the Delta Zeta website.

If you are interested in your own lifetime giving level, or have a Foundation question, please contact Chris Kern, Director of Development, at 513/523-7597 or chris@dzshq.com.
