After joining Pursuant in 2008 as a videographer and editor, Joel Bernsen has since produced several videos for nonprofits and educational institutions. As a visual storyteller, he specializes in delivering a message in a compelling and entertaining way. His background in art influences his work daily, while never overshadowing the client’s goals.

Joel’s 15-year career in video production began as a videographer for summer camps, and quickly expanded into editing, concept & storyboarding, directing and producing. He has created content for multiple delivery formats, including broadcast TV, web and DVD, with experience in both short form (commercials, music videos, movie trailers) and long form (infomercials, documentaries).

While working at Affiliated Media Group in Dallas, TX, he was recognized as Employee of the Year in 2007 after only 9 months on the job. Since then, Joel has produced several award winning videos, with his most recent work garnering four Telly Awards in 2010 alone. Other noteworthy accomplishments include editing two movie trailers for local independent films (Between Notes and Seasons of Gray), and collaborating on a music video raising awareness for the tragedies in Darfur (Actions Speak Louder by Swoope).
