Executive Counsel

Elliott S. Oshry has been a fund raising consultant since 1974 when he joined Ketchum, Inc. following a career in corporate public relations and newspaper publishing.  Today he is Executive Counsel to Pursuant Ketchum, in addition to managing a private consulting practice.

As Pursuant Ketchum’s executive vice president and member of the senior management team for 20 years, Elliott had responsibility for training and supervising the consulting staff, as well as providing direct counsel to some of the firm’s most sophisticated and complex clients.  He authored many of the firm’s extensive training manuals, videos, and curricula, which are acknowledged to be among the finest in the industry.

Elliott was a member of the Board of the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) for more than a decade, a frequent speaker at professional conferences, and a participant on committees that have written and edited training manuals and conference curricula for the profession. He serves on the Boards of The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, East End Cooperative Ministries (a homeless shelter and food pantry), and the Jewish University Center. He volunteers for The Neighborhood Academy, The Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force, and The Jewish Federation of Pittsburgh.

Prior to joining Pursuant Ketchum, Elliott had a career in corporate public relations followed by several years as the editor and publisher of a chain of daily and weekly newspapers. He is a graduate of Duquesne University and did post-graduate study at West Virginia University.
