This is Barb Peil’s fourth time to live in Dallas. And contrary to the popular adage, this time is a charm. Barb’s first adventure in Dallas1 was when she moved from her homeland in the northeast to be one of the first women to attend/graduate from Dallas Seminary. A pioneer among women! Then on to Riverside, California to work in Christian education as a high school English teacher, back to Dallas2 for more real-life, on the job ministry experience (and her first training with KMA, circa 1991), and then back to southern California to serve with Insight for Living for a wonderful decade as a writer and managing editor in Communications. Barb’s love for Christian radio became ever more apparent, as well as understanding all the processes, potholes, and potential of how a growing ministry can make an impact. Barb moved back to Dallas3 again briefly with Insight for Living in 2001, then north to Chicago to serve as Communications Director (along with a dozen other different hats) of the brand new radio ministry, Walk in the Word. In 2009, Barb returned to Dallas4 and to Insight for Living as a writer and editor, only to be pleasantly surprised and delighted with the prospect of serving Pursuant’s mission.
The fields of communication, writing, and education have been her favorites, as well as dabbling in the Christian publishing arena. Barb is now happily living in her little home at the top end of Frisco. She did something last weekend she’s dared never do before—she threw her moving boxes away.
